Pantomime Visit – Dick Whittington Brings Letchmore to Life!
On Wednesday, Letchmore Infants’ and Nursery School was filled with laughter, cheers and plenty of “He’s behind you!” as a travelling theatre company visited to perform the classic pantomime Dick Whittington.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils were completely captivated from the moment the curtains opened. With colourful costumes, lively songs and lots of audience participation, the performance brought the adventures of Dick, his trusty cat and their journey to London vividly to life.
The children absolutely loved joining in with the familiar pantomime calls and giggling at the silly antics on stage. For many, it was their first experience of a live performance, and their excitement and wide-eyed wonder could be felt throughout the hall.
Staff were equally impressed by the cast’s energy and the way they engaged even our youngest learners. It was a wonderful opportunity to spark imaginations, support our performing arts curriculum and give the children a magical mid-week treat.
A big thank you to Chaplin's theatre company for such an entertaining and memorable show. What a fantastic way to celebrate the run-up to Christmas!
