Ark Farm Visit Days

As per the email sent this week, the PTA Committee is delighted that two Farm Visit Days will be taking place in school next week, on Wednesday 6th July and Thursday 7th July. This visit from Ark Farm provides a fun and educational experience for the children to learn about different farm animals up close, find out how they are cared for, and help develop an understanding of how to treat all living creatures. There will be a variety of animals and birds visiting the school playground (no reptiles), which the children will be able to touch and handle.

Allergies: If your child has any animal allergies that would mean they are not be able to engage and stroke the animals, please ensure you inform your child’s class teacher before the Farm Visit Days.

Non-uniform: Children can come to school in non-uniform on both Farm Visit Days, in casual clothes that are appropriate to wear while handling animals. We kindly ask you to bring voluntary donations on the days, to help pay for this special visit. PTA volunteers and committee members will have collection buckets on school grounds on both days – and we also have a card machine! All contributions are greatly appreciated.

Farm Visit Days schedule:

Wednesday 6th July - Nursery and Year 1

Thursday 7th July - Reception and Year 2

Year 1 have their school performance on Thursday, so please ensure the non-uniform they wear to school is easy for the children to independently change in and out of, and is clearly named.

If you have any questions, email the PTA Committee: We hope the children enjoy this special treat for the end of the school year and make some great memories.

Year 2 Tea Towels

As communicated to Year 2 parents earlier this week, the children in Year 2 have each drawn a self-portrait which will be printed onto tea towels for you to purchase. These are a great memento of their time at Letchmore and represent the full year group. The cost per tea towel is £5.00, payable through Arbor, and there's no limit to the number you can buy. Towels are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so order yours today!

Please follow the usual process, adding a top-up amount into the Accounts or Payments section of Arbor (using the Arbor website or the Arbor app). Please make sure you put your payment under the PTA heading, write in the narrative box how many tea towels you wish to order, and ensure you pay the matching amount. The deadline for purchases is Monday 4th July. If you have any questions, you can email the PTA Committee on

If you would like to get involved with the PTA and help raise some funds for our school, please see the attached poster for ways you can help.

The PTA is a registered charity, and our fundraising goes directly towards some great causes, most recently the new playground equipment which will be installed over the coming months. Past fundraising has also been allocated towards new IT equipment, gym equipment, phonics resources, the Christmas pantomime, Year 2 leavers' hoodies and much more.

There are easy ways to get involved, including the School Lottery, Amazon Smile, and volunteering your time. All support, no matter how small, adds up to make a big difference. Please see the attached poster for ways you can help or email the PTA at to get involved.

Match Funding
Does your company offer match funding? The PTA is a registered charity, and match funding is a great way for us to double our fundraising on events that we run during the year. If your company offers match funding, please email us at and we'd be happy to provide a letter to help you secure match funding on behalf of the PTA.

Amazon Smile

Did you know that every time you shop on Amazon, you could be earning money for the PTA? Same selection, same price, but the PTA gets a cut directly from Amazon.  Simply search for "Smile" on Amazon, follow the link to Amazon Smile and select Letchmore PTA as your charity of choice. Amazon will then donate a portion of the purchase price to the PTA.  Earn money for our school whilst doing your Christmas shopping - a win-win!
