Herts County Council BRAKE Road Safety Week

BRAKE Road Safety Week 15th -21st (celebrating Road Safety Heroes)

It’s #RoadSafetyWeek, so we start with a BIG thank you to Herts Police, working very hard and around the clock to help keep everyone safe on our roads. Thanks also to the PCC and our DriveSafe volunteers who work to help make our roads safer.

Herts Fire and Rescue Service play a huge part in keeping us safe on the roads. They carry out prevention work, educate people on how to stay safe when travelling and save lives releasing people trapped in road traffic collisions. Thank you very much HFRS.

A BIG thank you to all our Emergency Health Care workers who work incredibly hard to provide a service to us all, 24 hours a day. Ensuring we receive the emergency medical treatment required in the unfortunate event of a road traffic collision. Thank you NHS.

To highlight the good things that happen in the world of road safety we’d like to thank our Sustainable Travel Officers who deliver Pedestrian Skills and Scooterbility Training. They do a terrific job of teaching kids all the basics, including how to #StaySafe near roads. Thank you STO team

For #RoadSafetyWeek we’d like to thank all our 147 School Crossing Patrols and the School crossing Patrol Team, who work incredibly hard to help keep families safe on journeys to and from school and encourage active and safe travel. Thank you very much  #RespectMe
