This week at Letchmore Infants' & Nursery School-
Earth hour is observed on the last Saturday of March every year. For 2022, the date of Earth hour is Saturday, 26 March. Earth hour will begin at 8:30 pm local time and ends at 9:30 pm local time. During this hour people switch off all the lights in their homes and workplaces to save energy and promote awareness of climate change. Why don’t you take part?
Today we joined other schools across Hertfordshire to help raise money for the refugees as a result of events happening in the Ukraine at present. The charity also supports refugees from other areas affected by war or persecution.
The children came in non uniform and wearing something blue and yellow symbolic of the Ukrainian flag. We would like to thanks all of those who contributed to this wonderful cause!
The Reception children took part in a STEM Bubbles workshop as part of British Science Week. The children had a great time making pictures from their colourful bubbles and learning the science behind bubbles.
Friday was Red Nose Day. The children came to school in Non-Uniform with a 'Superhero' Theme to raise money for all the good work the Red Nose Day charity does. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
Year 1 were planting trees this week. ECO-Club member, Annabel (Snowy Owl) came out with us to supervise as well!
On Friday, Year 2 children celebrated the end of their topic ‘The Great Fire of London’ by enjoying an inspirational day where they dressed up as characters from the era.

Red Nose Day is on Friday 18 March, and we can't wait to get involved in the fun.
This year, we're joining schools up and down the UK to turn smiles into something incredible for those who need it most. We will be holding a non-uniform day and students can choose to wear something 'Superhero' themed if they would like to.
